There is a common misconception that addictions to more socially acceptable controlled substances (such as alcohol or marijuana) don’t require such serious treatment as inpatient drug rehab in WV. However, that is not true. Addiction can be very difficult to overcome no matter what substance one uses. That is why our residential treatment facilities in WV are open to anyone who feels like they would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation program. We provide:

This is not to say that some substances are not more addictive than others. Harmony Ridge provides treatment for all kinds of substance use disorders. If you feel you’ve fallen prey to drugs that are well-known to cause serious addiction and are now ready to seek help, consider our:

You will receive help with detox and medical treatment at our residential treatment center West Virginia

One of the obstacles people encounter when they decide to get sober is the difficult process of detoxing from an addictive substance. Symptoms of detox can include nausea, fatigue, irritability, and various body aches. Detoxing is not just unpleasant – it can be dangerous and potentially life-threatening for those with serious underlying conditions. Therefore, it is best to have medical supervision during detox. Physician-prescribed medication may also be necessary to mitigate the symptoms of detox.

Medication prescribed by our medical staff can help you get through detox more comfortably.

Many inpatient drug rehab centers in West Virginia can and do prescribe medication that can help during detox and Harmony Ridge is no exception. Our medical detox center WV can dispense naltrexone and buprenorphine, typically used for alcohol and opioid addiction respectively. These medications are safe when used as prescribed and under medical supervision in residential treatment facilities in WV.

What should you expect from detoxing?

The thought of detoxing can be unsettling when you don’t know what to expect. You may have heard from others about how unpleasant it is or you may have seen the negative portrayals of it in media. However, you should not let that stop you from seeking treatment at an inpatient drug rehab in WV. It is true – detoxing is not fun; but, it will be easier with medication assisted treatment provided at our facilities. We will keep you safe while you detox and if necessary, treat your symptoms with FDA-approved medication, thus providing you with help and comfort you won’t be able to find if you detox by yourself. Here is how the process will go:

  1. You will be evaluated upon arrival so that our medical staff can decide how best to help you.
  2. Our admissions team will help you settle into your accommodation.
  3. You will be under medical supervision while you detox. This process may take anywhere between one and ten days, depending on the substance you are detoxing from, how long you’ve been using it, and your overall health. However, some symptoms may linger even after detox.
  4. Symptoms you may experience during detox include but are not limited to: fever, tremors, changes in appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, insomnia, congestion, muscle pain, restlessness, mood swings, and even seizures.
  5. If your symptoms are too difficult to deal with, you may be prescribed medication to mitigate them at this point. Sometimes, it is necessary to try different medications and dosages to find the right treatment for you.
  6. When you are physically able to, you will start participating in therapy and other forms of treatment. These will teach you how to maintain sobriety once your residential program is over.

How Our Residential Treatment Program Works

Harmony Ridge Recovery Center is surrounded by beautiful woods.

Residential drug and alcohol rehab begins with a full evaluation of each patient’s needs in regards to their specific circumstances. After an evaluation is fully performed, an evidence-based and outcome-focused treatment plan is prepared for each individual. Our licensed and experienced clinical and medical staff uniquely created and modified these plans. Our patients will receive care and treatment according to these plans throughout their time with us.

Operating under 24-hour medical and clinical supervision, our residential program encompasses a daily schedule for our patients to follow. Each patient will begin their day within their specified living quarters and then be able to head out to our clinical building for their daily treatment to commence. The short and long-term effects of a substance use disorder are addressed during our residential rehab program.

Each patient is given the opportunity to follow a highly-structured individualized program designed to treat the underlying causes that have fueled their addiction specifically. This typically requires individuals to be open about their triggers, environmental stressors, coping mechanisms, or underlying dual diagnosis. By openly communicating and addressing these concerns in a place where safety and security are of the highest priority, the rehabilitation process begins to take shape.

Throughout the day, during periods of downtime, patients are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, take a swim in our indoor pool, or even take some private time to reflect upon the day’s activities, lessons, accomplishments, and words of encouragement.

Since rehabilitation is a unique journey, patients respond to sharing and learning during treatment in different ways. In some cases, patients will take time alone, appreciating the time to reflect silently. Other times, the comfort and support of their peers will be something to look forward to in between therapy or group sharing sessions.

What Makes Our Inpatient Rehab Program Right For You?

residential treatment in west virginia
Everything is easier in group, even recovery.

While no one can make this decision for you, it’s always best to consider what residential treatment at Harmony Ridge Recovery Center can offer you as you strive to improve the quality of your life and overcome addiction. Drug abuse can take a toll on a person’s mind and body. Drug or alcohol addiction treatment requires help from qualified professionals, like our team at Harmony Ridge.

Some questions to ask yourself while you consider enrolling in our inpatient treatment program include the following:

  • Do you want to increase your chances of successful long-term recovery in a highly supportive and controlled environment?
  • Do you want to receive treatment in a place where you can feel safe and comfortable to address any and all of your concerns?
  • Are you interested in overcoming addiction while being surrounded by like-minded peers who are open and available for emotional support?
  • Do you want to be in a safe, comfortable, and relaxing setting, giving you time to focus your attention on your recovery goals?
  • Do you want to better your life by undergoing a customized treatment program designed specifically for your needs and offering a wide variety of state-of-the-art medical and clinical programs?

If any of these options sound inviting or comforting at the very least, residential treatment is something you should consider to make a part of your rehabilitation journey. Addiction can leave you feeling alone, abandoned, or even forgotten about. But your recovery journey does not have to be that way.

Having a comfortable space where you are able to open up and share your life experience without judgment will make residential treatment a positive addition to fulfilling your goal of living a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle, and achieving a sense of overall wellbeing.

Residential Treatment Provides Patients With The Best Opportunity For Success

Our inpatient program provides the perfect environment to rediscover who you really are, and who you would like to become!

One very important factor that contributes to overall lasting rehabilitation and recovery is essentially the amount of time that is put into the program. Residential treatment is not meant to last forever. However, taking part in a specialized program that is designed to provide treatment long enough to make an impact will instill a positive and proactive outlook with confidence in all of our patients and their future endeavors.

At Harmony Ridge, our residential program offers patients the time and space necessary to rediscover who they are now and who they strive to become, instead of focusing on who they were before beginning their rehabilitation journey toward recovery. It is important to develop and maintain a positive mental attitude for life and inspire ongoing diligence in the lessons and coping skills developed while in treatment.

Inpatient rehab provides the best possible chance of success in the long run. Inpatient rehab provides 24/7 support access to medical professionals. Substance abuse treatment is a multi-layered endeavor, one that relies on support and trust among staff and patients. Inpatient rehab provides this trust and a lot more.

Residential Treatment is Proven Effective

CONTACT US TODAY

The type of care that is provided during your residential treatment stay at Harmony Ridge is designed to produce optimal rehab treatment results. It has been found that when patients receive detox care, and their residential treatment follows immediately after, within the same facility, the results are much higher for rehabilitation and recovery than among the rest.

Though no type of rehabilitation is stationary or permanent, there is comfort in being adapted to a routine. Residential treatment allows for relationships with staff and trusted professionals to be developed. You work with the same professionals during and after the detoxification process. Then you are further nurtured for the duration of the stay in the residential treatment programs within the facility.

Unlike outpatient or partial hospitalization programs (PHP), patients are completely removed from dangerous or ill-suited environments. Doing this prevents them from having to immediately face triggers or temptations that led them down the road to addiction in the first place.

Given the time to adjust and to set goals, patients are geared up with the positive and influential skills and coping mechanisms before having to once again return to their home environments and resist the urges of substance use.

Still, even within the parameters of the facility, patients are not denied the ability to socialize and participate in activities with their peers. In fact, at Harmony Ridge, developing relationships with like-minded individuals during group therapy and character-building activities help patients to stay on the right track and push forward through the tough days, knowing and seeing the proof that better ones are coming.

Recovering individuals are better able to maintain their sobriety after residential treatment, thanks to having the experience of socialization around other sober individuals on their road to recovery.

We will always show respect, understanding, and kindness to anyone who turns to us for help because we know first-hand how difficult addiction can be. When should you choose inpatient drug rehab in WV over outpatient or partial hospitalization programs?

Addiction treatment can vary in intensity – from once a week meetings to full hospitalization. Whether you should choose an outpatient program or stay at one of the residential treatment facilities in WV will depend on the substance you use, the severity of your addiction, and other factors. It is also quite common to need different levels of care at different stages of recovery. You may start in a residential program, then transition to partial hospitalization, and finally switch to outpatient treatment. Typically, inpatient drug rehab is recommended for severe cases of addiction, prolonged drug use, and frequent relapses. It is an intense type of treatment that provides you with the highest level of structure and support. If you think you will need constant and consistent support, this is the right choice for you.

Helping a Family Member Through Addiction

CONTACT US TODAY

You don’t have to personally be dependent on substance use for addiction to affect your life. Having a family member who is struggling can be just as difficult in a completely different way. You will probably experience a complicated mixture of emotions – empathy for your loved one’s suffering, anger at the way their addiction has changed your life, confusion over the choices they’re making, frustration at not being able to help them. These are all perfectly normal and understandable feelings but they will almost certainly get in the way of your familial relationships.

The therapy is designed to heal both you and your loved one in a way that allows your relationship to evolve into something better and stronger.

Preparing for Your Stay at a Residential Treatment Center West Virginia - What to Bring, Who to Inform, How to Cope?

CONTACT US TODAY

If you’ve never been to inpatient drug rehab centers in West Virginia, you probably have a lot of questions. Not knowing what to expect can cause a lot of anxiety, which you really don’t need when you are already taking such an important step. Let us address some of the things that may be at the forefront of your mind:

Packing for inpatient drug rehab in WV

When you participate in an inpatient program, you temporarily move into residential treatment facilities in WV so you should pack all the things you typically need on a regular basis. Here are some suggestions on what those may be:

  • comfortable indoor shoes and clothing to wear at the center
  • weather-appropriate outdoor clothes and footwear
  • a nicer outfit or two for special events (such as important visits and celebrations)
  • sleep clothes, socks, and underwear
  • the toiletries you’ll need during your stay (toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, hair and styling products, lotions, sunscreen, etc) – all unopened

In addition to these everyday items that you will be using for the duration of the program, you’ll also want to pack a small bag of necessities for your admission day. These are either things you will use when checking in or things you need to report during check-in. Here is what to include:

  • important documents (your ID, proof of health insurance, and credit cards)
  • some cash to use at the facility
  • a list of people you want to be included in your recovery process with their contact information
  • photos of friends and family
  • jewelry that you wear on a daily basis
  • any prescription medication you take in its original packaging

Taking time off work

You will not be able to work while at an inpatient drug rehab in WV so you will need to take time off if you are employed. Admitting why you need that time off to your employer can be difficult. Remember this: going to rehab shows that you are taking steps toward recovery. It is, therefore, not something to be judged but admired for so be upfront! Explain your struggles and why you need the type of treatment inpatient drug rehab centers in West Virginia provide. Depending on your contract and place of work, you may be able to negotiate:

  • a medical leave given that addiction is a medical condition
  • paid time off in the form of either a leave or unused vacation days
  • unpaid time off if your contract doesn’t allow for other types of leave

Talking to friends and family

A common concern for many addicts is what their loved ones will think of them. They avoid admitting to their issues because they are afraid their friends and family will judge them. There is no denying it – this is a difficult conversation to have but it’s a necessary one. Even though you will meet new people at inpatient drug rehab in WV, your family and friends will always be an important part of your support system. It is essential you don’t alienate them further with lies.

Instead, have an honest conversation with the people you are closest to: your partner, your parents, your children, your siblings, and your best friends. Admit that you have a problem and apologize for how it may have affected them. Most importantly, focus on the positive – the fact that you are seeking help. The people who care about you will support you in this decision.

Dealing with the emotional turmoil

Residential treatment facilities in WV tend to evoke a lot of strong emotions. You may feel anxious, uncertain, frustrated, lonely, or conversely, hopeful. In fact, you will likely experience all of that and more during rehab. Dealing with so many strong emotions can be exhausting but that is what your addiction therapy at Harmony Ridge is there for! In therapy sessions, you will learn how to cope with your feelings in a healthy and sustainable way.

Rehab is an emotional process but we are here to help you deal with it.

FAQ

CONTACT US TODAY

1. What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient programs?

As a participant in an outpatient program, you will only visit the treatment facilities for scheduled therapy; otherwise, you can stay at home and continue on with your life. When you join an inpatient rehab program, however, you stay at our residential treatment facility. This removes you from a potentially triggering environment and makes it easier for you to avoid using substances. You will be under 24/7 medical supervision to ensure you are maintaining your sobriety. The treatment is intense but very effective.

2. What type of addiction can be treated in a residential rehab program?

The Harmony Ridge residential treatment program is suitable for all types of substance use disorders, including addiction to alcohol, marijuana, meth, cocaine, heroin, stimulants, and opiates.

3. What should I expect from inpatient rehab?

Residential rehab provides you with a great deal of structure. You will, therefore, have a daily schedule which includes different types of medical treatment and therapy, regular meals, and structured activities. During your free time, you are welcome to enjoy the surrounding nature or join other social gatherings.

4. How long does a stay in a residential treatment center in West Virginia last?

Your treatment at Harmony Ridge will be tailored to your unique needs so the length of your stay will depend on the amount of help you need. Programs typically last between 30 and 90 days. However, you can also stay for longer at our sober living facilities or transition to an outpatient program if you find that inpatient treatment is not for you.

5. How will I know if I need to join an inpatient program?

Inpatient treatment is recommended for severe cases of addiction. If your substance use is interfering with your life, affecting your relationships, or causing you financial and legal issues and especially if you’ve struggled to stay sober on your own in the past due to bad influences in your environment, then residential rehab may be the solution for you.

6. What are the benefits of residential rehab at the Harmony Ridge Recovery Center?

Inpatient rehab programs have proven to be very effective in treating addiction. At Harmony Ridge, the treatment will be tailored to you to make it even more suitable for your unique situation. Our expert staff have personal experience with addiction and will show you compassion and understanding. Finally, our unique location and extensive amenities will make your stay with us calming and empowering.

7. How can I pay for treatment at Harmony Ridge?

Harmony Ridge accepts a variety of private insurance plans (including Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Peia, and Tricare insurance) as well as Medicaid. Of course, you can also pay for the treatment yourself, using savings or loans.
